Practical Aspects Of Insulin Therapy

By Dr. Anil Kapur

Diabetes mellitus has been known since ancient times. The principle of management of diabetes hinges on achieving a healthy balance between food intake, exercise and "insulin effect".

The indications for insulin in the management of diabetes mellitus are generally described as absolute and relative. But in this booklet the terms “Regular” and "Intermittent Use", are used for the simple reason that wherever insulin is indicated, its use is essential and absolute; whether it be on a regular basis or intermittently for short periods to tide over acute problems.
